How Omari Textiles collects, uses and protects personal information belonging to affiliates, customers and visitors to this portal.

Last updated 20 October 2026

1. Who we are

Omari Textiles ("Omari", "ShopOmari", "we", "us") operates the Omari Affiliate Programme through this portal and the store at shopomari.com. For the purposes of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA"), Omari Textiles is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy covers this affiliate portal, the affiliate registration process, and the communications and payments connected with the programme.

2. Information we collect

  • Identity and contact details — your full name, email address, WhatsApp number, city and state.
  • Payout details — bank name, account number and account name. We verify these with our payment partner so that commissions reach the right person.
  • Programme records — sales you report, invoices you raise, commission earned and paid, payout requests, and your account status.
  • Communications — messages you send through the portal Message Centre, WhatsApp threads with our team, and emails.
  • Content you submit — product photographs, proof of payment and other files you upload or send to us.
  • Technical data — browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.

3. Why we use your information

We use your information only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

  • To create and manage your affiliate account, assign your affiliate ID and operate the programme (performance of our agreement with you).
  • To verify your bank account and pay commission to you (performance of our agreement, and our legitimate interest in preventing misdirected or fraudulent payouts).
  • To record sales, invoices and payouts, and to keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
  • To answer your questions and send you programme updates, price changes and commission confirmations (performance of our agreement, or your consent for optional marketing).
  • To keep the portal secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and diagnose technical problems (our legitimate interests).
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the portal is used so we can improve it (our legitimate interests, or consent where required).

4. Bank account verification and payments

When you enter your bank details we send your account number and bank to our payment partner, Paystack, which returns the name registered to that account. We use the returned name only to confirm that the account belongs to you; we do not store any additional data from that check.

Customer payments for fabric are processed by licensed payment providers (Paystack, Flutterwave and Squad). Card details are entered on the provider's own secure page. We never see or store full card numbers, CVV codes or PINs.

5. Automated assistance

Some messages sent to our team may be read by automated tools that help us draft a reply. Automated tools assist our staff; they do not make decisions that deny you commission or close your account. Any such decision is taken by a member of our team.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. Optional measurement is used only with your consent, and you can change your choice at any time. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • Payment providers (Paystack, Flutterwave, Squad) — to verify accounts, collect customer payments and pay commission.
  • Our email, document and file providers (Google Workspace, Drive and Gmail) — to store programme records and send correspondence.
  • WhatsApp / Meta — when you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, your messages are handled on that platform under its own terms.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider — which stores the portal and its database on our behalf.
  • Our automated-assistance provider — message content may be processed by an AI tool to help us draft replies, as described in section 5.
  • Professional advisers, and regulators, courts or law enforcement — where we are required by law to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

8. Transfers outside Nigeria

Some of our service providers process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards recognised under the NDPA, including contractual protections with those providers, and we share only what is necessary for the service.

9. How long we keep information

  • Affiliate account and programme records — for as long as your account is active, and for six years afterwards where they form part of our financial and tax records.
  • Registration enquiries that do not result in an account — up to twelve months.
  • Messages and support threads — up to twenty-four months after your account closes.
  • Technical and security logs — typically up to twelve months.

10. Keeping your information safe

Access to affiliate records is restricted to authorised members of the Omari team, and the portal enforces role-based access so that one affiliate cannot see another affiliate's data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as required by law.

11. Your rights

Under the NDPA you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold your personal data and give you a copy of it;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete information we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
  • restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • provide your data in a portable format; and
  • withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.

12. How to exercise your rights

Message us on WhatsApp at +234 815 229 3801 or through the Message Centre in your affiliate portal and tell us what you would like us to do. We will respond within thirty days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.

13. Marketing messages

We send programme announcements, price changes and commission confirmations to the WhatsApp number you registered. You can ask us to stop optional announcements at any time; we will still send essential service messages about your account, sales and payments.

14. Children

The affiliate programme is open only to people aged eighteen and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

15. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. Where the change is significant we will tell you by WhatsApp or email before it takes effect.
